I've had the pleasure of listening to the yet to be released album
"This is War" by 30 seconds to Mars
and let me tell you...
You will NOT be disappointed.
A mix of their Self Titled and a mix of "A Beautiful Lie".
Two of the most powerful tracks to me are "This is War" and "Alibi."
The integration of the fans through-out the album will give you goosebumps,
which "This is War" has quite a bit. From the intro to the of gradually screaming fans to the singing a long fading out, its truly magical. I feel this is 30 seconds to mars best song ever.
"I believe in nothing but the beating of our hearts"
To my knowledge, I don't know of any band or singer to directly involve
their fans as much as 30 Seconds to Mars has.
"Alibi" is more of a slower ballad starting out with the piano.
Jared sings:
"Took our chance/crashed and burned
no we'll never ever learn.
I fell apart/ but got back up again"
Words to live by.
The track titled "Hurricane" features an appearance by Kanye West.
Talk about someone from left field.
Even though I'm not a huge Kanye fan (VMA's anyone?)
The part he plays in the song definitely adds more to the song.
I won't go on to give more spoilers, but this is definitely an album that
was worth the 4 year wait. I get chills listening to this album.
My anticipation for the concert on December 16th has just increased ten fold.
